Your leak questions answered…

What causes pipes to leak?

Leaks happen for lots of different reasons, it could be that the underground pipe has been damaged – sometimes tree roots can get a hold, or building work being done near to the pipe can cause problems.

Why doesn’t the WSC know where all leaks are?

Underground pipes are hidden from view and can burst and leak anywhere and at any time. The WSC has been tracing and fixing leaks for years and has reduced them to a minimum. But we could still do better with your help so if you notice any leak please report it.
