The Water Services Corporation notes with great satisfaction that after intensive works following the recent major storm it has restored fresh water supply from Malta to Gozo.
During the storm the Corporation’s instrumentation noted abnormal pressures on the submarine pipeline. As soon as the weather permitted, the Corporation dispatched a team of divers who confirmed extensive damage on the first 100 meter section leaving Comino.

Subsequently, the required heavy infrastructural setup was put in place and this allowed the execution of the required repairs in the shortest possible time frame. The submarine pipeline is now fully functional.
The Corporation will still continue its intervention over the coming days to further strengthen the asset.
CEO, Richard Bilocca expressed the Corporation’s gratitude for its workforce that continues to excel even in the most adverse conditions.
