The Water Services Corporation is delighted to announce that one of its Executive Directors, Mr. Neil Kerr, was elected to the Executive Committee of EurEau – the European Federation of National Associations of Water Services. This association represents national drinking and waste water service providers from 29 countries, from both the private and the public sectors.

The Executive Committee serves as the driving force of the Federation and prepares the work for the General Assembly, which is the highest decision making body of EurEau. The other elected members are from Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Romania, Slovenia, Spain and the United Kingdom.

The Water Services Corporation now finds itself at the very core of the policy-making centre in Brussels, where it will be playing an integral part in the formulation of new legislation which would ultimately be proposed by the European Commission. The experience garnered by WSC’s Management during the Maltese Presidency of the Council of the EU was considered to be a great asset to the Federation and the EurEau Secretariat is looking forward to collaborating and making use of this knowledge.

The elections were held during the meeting of the General Assembly currently being held in Bonn, Germany.

The Water Services Corporation is also pleased to announce that Malta was chosen to host the EurEau Congress in 2021 which will bring together all the bodies of the Federation and will ensure the presence of around 300 people in the autumn of the said year.
